| Technician Profile |
| As a service technician for well over six years,
I have came across various problems with many household appliances including
central air conditioning systems. Therefore I determined that I was not
going to be a fly by night repairman . So in repairing the many problems,
I also take it upon myself to diagnose why these problems
occur. This saves you money over time because you are benefiting from my
expertise in getting to the root of the problem and fixing it. Not just
making the symptoms go away. Also in finding
these problems I couldn't lower my ethics and just tell customers that
"its just wear and tear" although this happens 5% of the time.
Also looking at how greedy and trifling my competition is, I decided
to
come up with a household tip sheet (below) which should cut down on your
calls for service and possibly save you some money.

Charlie's Money Saving Tips These
tips should be followed consecutively and one should develop a habit when
following these tips. |

Washing Machines
Try to never overload a washing machine
even if you are in a rush and you should only load a machine with
at least two pair two of jeans and then some shirts ect.
Try to give your wash machine a dry run by just setting the timer
to normal and just wash with no clothes in the machine . Lint tends
to form in the water pump as well as around the tub housing. By
running the washing machine without any clothes in the machine with
hot water inadvertently cleans the tub and the pump .
Once a month schedule. |
| |
Dryers
Always
clean your lent trap before you attempt to dry the next load. Check
outside periodically to see if there is a reasonably flow of hot air
coming from the vent. |
| |
Dishwasher Dishwashers
are really maintenance free. However, you should run your dishwasher
once a month with detergent and no dishes . Soot from dirty dishes
and from hard water tends to clog the pump as well as the drain line
to include the garbage disposal.
Once a month schedule. |
| |
Garbage Disposal Never
rinse chicken bones or any other kind of bones in the garbage disposal.
Soft foods that can be easily mashed would never harm the garbage
disposal. Never pour bleach or grease or any other strong chemicals
in the garbage disposal. Ice cubes works good for cleaning your garbage
disposal will get rid of bad odors also. |
| |
Refrigerator Try
to clean out at the bottom coils at least once a month by popping
out the front cover and vacuuming the coils if your refrigerator has
the coils mounted to the back just pull it out and brush it down with
a broom.
Once a month schedule. |
| |
Ranges
Clean
ovens and stoves as directed by the manufacturer. A light detergent
can be used such as dish detergent. Never use a brillo pad on a oven
and never get the heating element wet in an electric oven. Simply
wipe off the top of the modern electric stove so that you do not damage
the top material . |
| |
Central Air Systems
Always change your filters every thirty days. Changing your air filter
will eliminate ninety five percent of repair problems. I can not
emphasize
this topic enough.
Once a month schedule. |
